About

For over 14 years I've worked with individuals, couples and families. I'm trained as a clinical psychologist, systemic therapist and social scientist, with a PhD in psychology from Georgetown. My earlier research focused on identity and conflict between nations.

Before my practice, I worked with the United Nations University and taught at Georgetown University, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the University of Kent. Through that work, and years of hosting and attending events at the diplomatic level, I know these worlds from the inside: the protocol, the pressure, and what it costs the people who carry them. My clients don't need to explain their world to me. They can simply bring themselves.

I was born in San Diego and have lived and worked across the United States, Europe and Africa. Along the way I've come to believe that we become most fully ourselves through one another. That's why, when it helps, my work also includes the people closest to my clients.

I'm also writing a book, Strong Enough to Feel: The courage to come fully alive (working title).
