Privacy notice

I take your privacy as seriously as I take confidentiality in my work. This notice explains what happens to the information you share through this website.

Who is responsible

This website is run by Ubuntu Spirit BV (enterprise and VAT number BE 1037.375.903), my company. Ubuntu Spirit BV is responsible for your personal data. You can reach me at nikki@drnikkislocum.com.

What I collect and why

When you write to me through the contact form or by email, I receive your name, your email address and your message. I use them only to reply to you and, if you wish, to arrange a first conversation. The legal basis is that you have asked me to respond, and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries about my work.

Please keep a first message brief and general. There is no need to share health information or other sensitive details here; we can talk about those in person.

Who else sees it

No one, apart from the services that make the website and email work: Squarespace, which hosts this website, and Google Workspace, which handles my email. They process data on my behalf and under contract. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union, including in the United States; where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under EU law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. I never sell your data or use it for marketing.

How long I keep it

I keep your message for as long as I need it to reply and arrange a first conversation. If we don't go on to work together, I delete it within 12 months. If we do, I keep only what our work and my legal obligations require.

Cookies

This website uses cookies that it needs to work properly. Cookies that help me understand how the site is used are set only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time through the cookie banner.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, to correct or delete it, to limit how I use it, to object to its use, or to receive a copy of it. Just write to me at the address above, and I'll respond within one month.

If you feel I haven't handled your data properly, you can also contact the Belgian Data Protection Authority at www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
